  • DS8k Performance improvements (3.6 MB)
  • The DS8000 offers an array of advanced functions for data backup, remote mirroring and disaster recovery that provide replication functionality for some of the world's most critical and performance intensive environments. The IBM FlashCopy® feature addresses a key requirement for continuous data availability by quickly and efficiently creating point-in-time copies without impeding the application server.  In addition, DS8870 also supports advanced multi-site business-continuity capabilities, such as Metro Mirror and Global Mirror,  to give you the peace of mind of knowing your business-critical data will be available when you need it during planned and unplanned outages.  This session will discuss the performance considerations and expectations for different replication functionality including Metro Mirror, Global Mirror and FlashCopy.   The speakers will discuss how to configure the DS8870 for optimal replication performance and show examples of what can be achieved in real-world environments based on customer experiences.
