Come and learn a bit about CICS TS trace and the information within. The session will cover (briefly) the trace options, auxiliary trace data sets, plus the methods to setup the desired defaults. We will then cover the basic format and content of the three different trace entry formats, including ties back to your application programs. Following this we will look at using trace to analyzer application programs both from profiling and problem determination point of views. One goal of the session is to provide some insight into how CICS trace can benefit your skills. Another goal is to make trace capture a real possibility at your site by reducing the information captured to what is required for application profiling and problem resolution.
