  • Proxy Coupling Technologhy (790.6 kB)
  • Proximal Systems Corporation introduces its patented proxy coupling technology. In general terms, it enables a task to be offloaded from one system to another by means of a proxy task, which has the identical interface as the task to be offloaded, but delegates the majority of the internal CPU processing to an offload task through on offload agent on another system. The specific implementation to be presented involves offloading cycles from z/OS to z/Linux on an IFL. To put it in perspective, proxy coupling technology essentially allows one to add MIPS at a fraction of the normal cost, with no loss in compatibility, reliability or performance. There’s no migration, retooling of business processes, or retraining involved. Just low-cost, transparent augmentation of the existing mainframe environment.
