  • Using IDCAMS to Manage VSAM Data Sets (188.9 kB)
  • IDCAMS is an IBM supplied utility that is used to create (define), change, and delete VSAM data sets.  It can also be used to load and unload data from a VSAM data set, print records in a VSAM data set, diagnose problems with VSAM data sets, and fix the High Used Relative Byte Address (HURBA) after an incomplete close of a VSAM data set.  If you expect to be working with VSAM data sets, you will need to know how to use the IDCAMS utility, so that you too can be a hero.  Come, learn how to use IDCAMS to create and manipulate VSAM data sets.
