This session will provide recommendations on how you can monitor your z/OS Communication Servers to help isolate network and application performance problems. With thousands of available z/OS Network performance metrics, it can be a daunting task to even know where to start. This session will provide advice gathered from customer experiences with OMEGAMON XE for Mainframe Networks.
- You will see how correlation between key metrics can more quickly isolate performance problems.
- Identify how poorly designed end to end applications could be the cause to high z/OS overhead.
- Create a simple view to help identify why TCP/IP connections are randomly being rejected
The performance of z/OS Communication Server resources to be discussed will include:
- OSA-Express
- Enterprise Extender/HPR
- FTP
- TN3270
- and Application Listeners
just to name a few.
