WebSphere Operational Decision Management for z/OS enables you to maintain critical business decision logic in your CICS applications while avoiding lengthy application development cycles. CICS TS 4.x has added the capability to emit events from existing applications as well as host the Business Rule Execution.  With Operational Decision Management on z/OS, the use of Business Events to DETECT business situations occurring and then Business Rules to DECIDE how to handle the situation is a powerful way to extend existing applications.
