XRC (eXtended Remote Copy), also called z/Global Mirror, is a very robust product for replicating data to a remote site for disaster recovery. It can also be a little complicated to implement, and it tuning it so that it runs efficiently and does not suspend can be tricky. The speaker for this session will explain the various knobs that can be used to tune XRC, and he will provide an overview of the XRC Performance Toolkit that was recently made available as part of the GDPS/XRC service offering. These tools not only provide ways to improve the performance of your XRC environment, but they also provide a way to monitor the results of your tuning efforts.
