11426: Managing I/O Configuration from z/VM

Wednesday, August 8, 2012: 1:30 PM-2:30 PM
Grand Ballroom Salon D (Anaheim Marriott Hotel)
Speaker: Arunkumaar Ramachandran(IBM)
Handouts
  • Manaing I/O Configuration from z/VM (1.1 MB)
  • Most sites with System z processors manage the I/O configuration using HCD for z/OS. With the popularity of Linux on System z and hosting virtual server farms using z/VM, there are enterprises that have only z/VM and Linux on System z. When no z/Os is present, the I/O configuration must be maintained from z/VM. This session addresses the questions: How to go about I/O configuration definitions from z/VM? What are the various ways to do it? How to do dynamic I/O changes from z/VM?
