Wednesday, August 8, 2012: 9:30 AM-10:30 AM
Grand Ballroom Salon B (Anaheim Marriott Hotel)
Speaker: Sharuff Morsa(IBM)
Handouts
  • ABC Part 4 handout (197.5 kB)
  • This top-rated session is the fourth of a sequence of five that provide a quick and easy introduction to the most important elements of the IBM mainframe's Assembler Language. Each session covers key concepts to help you understand and write simple assembler programs, and provides illustrative examples.

Topics to be covered in Part 4 include:

    o The EQU directive
    o Extended branch mnemonics
    o Literals as 'constant constants'
    o Looping
    o The LOAD ADDRESS instruction
    o Internal subroutines
    o Multiplication and division

Your learning will be enhanced if you can bring a PC-compatible laptop; but if you can't, the lab sessions will give you an opportunity to try out some sample programs. We will provide a CD or USB 'flash drive' with the ASSIST/I assembler and host emulator you can use to write, test, and print your programs.
