  • Using HW Crypto Support in Linux on System z (742.2 kB)
  • Cryptographic procedures are crucial in most security sensitive workloads. Unfortunately encrypting data comes with a considerable cost. To minimize the extra cost of encrypting data the System z platform offers HW support for several cryptographic operations. This presentation will provide an overview of the System z HW support available for Linux on System z and describe in detail new HW crypto features available in Linux on System z. Last but not least we will show how applications using standard crypto libraries (like openssl or opencryptoki) can benefit from System z HW crypto features.
