  • The increasing importance of Sysplex enabled applications requires an understanding of XCF (Sysplex Services for Communication).   This  presentation illustrates the coding and usage of XCF services within a Sysplex enabled, multi-system application.   The following topics are discussed and illustrated:

    • XCF Concepts:   Sysplex, Group and Member
    • XCF Services:   Group, Signaling and Status Monitoring
    • XCF Member attributes and states
    • Overview of XCF macros
    • A sample application named RXC illustrates XCF concepts from the presentation -- implemented in Assembler code

The RXC system is primarily intended for z/OS systems programmers and developers of authorized software.   It assumes some knowledge of assembly language programming.
