  • In January IBM announced that you would be able to order a z13 with 10TB of memory. What could one do with all that memory? We are poised to see z/OS systems with dramatically larger memory sizes in the near future. This will have a significant impact on the performance of our applications running on z/OS.

Come to this session with Scott Chapman to learn why today performance is all about memory. Scott will give you an overview of the hardware memory hierarchy, the potential performance implications of large memory sizes, and performance metrics relevant to managing z/OS memory. The use of Flash Express will be discussed and the latest z13 hardware will be contrasted with previous mainframe models.
