Tuesday, March 3, 2015: 1:45 PM-2:45 PM
Virginia (Level 4) (Sheraton Seattle)
Speakers: David Follis(IBM Corporation) and Gary Picher(IBM Corporation)
Handouts
  • z/OS Connect (3.6 MB)
  • z/OS Connect is a new part of WebSphere Liberty Profile that will provide a consistent, secure, high performing way to integrate z/OS business and infrastructure assets with the Cloud and Mobile worlds. Virtually all z/OS back end assets, including those in CICS, IMS, batch, and Unix System Services can be discovered and reached using simple RESTful calls from Cloud and Mobile platforms with z/OS Connect. This session will provide an overview of z/OS Connect and describe how this connector technology hides the complexity of calling applications on z/OS inside it's configuration (preventing the need to deal with this outside of z/OS).  We'll also have a demo taking a green-screen CICS application and going through the steps to make it available via REST/JSON.
