Biographical Sketch: Gary Picher has worked at IBM for 13 years, with 12 of those years in the WebSphere Application Server for z/OS area. For the past 5 years he has led the WAS for z/OS runtime development team, focusing on code that enables both the traditional and Liberty WAS for z/OS profiles to take special advantage of the qualities of service provided by the z/OS operating system. Prior to this Gary worked on the WAS Connection Management team developing code that enabled WebSphere to connect to backend systems such as DB2, CICS, and IMS. Gary also spent time on the WebSphere Integration Test team building large scale systems that model customer environments based on WAS and WAS stack products.
