16338: Big Data, Hadoop and NoSQL 101 for System Programmers

This session will focus on giving a high level over view of the various components which make up a Big Data solution.  The first part will explain what we call the "Hadoop stack" the components which include a overlay file system, various ingest, query and export tools. The Hadoop ecosystem is a set of loosely coupled projects around the core Hadoop components.

The second part of this session will give a technical overview of opportunities and challenges of Big Data on SystemZ including data governance, performance tuning and best practice recommendations.
