  • The Garbage Collector (GC) plays a major role in the Java Runtime Environment and its performance. IBM provides several different GC technologies under the cover to suit different applications needs. This session will provide an overview of the GC technologies available under IBM Java Runtime Environment with emphasis on their performance. In addition we will discuss tools to monitor memory usage and garbage collection activity within the Java application. We will explain how to analyze and interpret the data. And finally, we will elaborate on available options within IBM Java to tune the GC for better performance.
