What does air combat or card players have to do with laying the groundwork for digital transformation? Think about it - the future is digital. Digital technology is transforming business at a rapid pace. Increasingly, products are digitally augmented, digitally delivered, or completely digital services themselves. Because of this, it's a great time to be an information technology professional. Unfortunately, these new digital opportunities are fast and fleeting, requiring great innovation and execution to beat the competition and stay in the lead. Most IT departments are not organized or structured to move fast and meet the challenge. Maintaining excellence in this competitive environment will require more than solid operational discipline. We'll have to rethink our organizational structures and processes. In this session, we'll delve into the worlds of fighter pilots and card counters and see what lessons we can learn to help IT departments operate with peak agility and effectiveness.
