Handouts
  • MQ & CICS Unbalanced workloads (2.4 MB)
  • In the past two years what was a rare issue has now become a common occurrence - CICS workload initiated (or fed) by MQ has become remarkably unbalanced.  Reports of almost 100% of workloads being processed by one LPAR, when other CICS regions sit idle.  Why is this happening?  We are seeing a number of different causes, sometimes they are working together, to product this unbalance.  If you have seen it in your environment, what causes have you identified?  What can be done to alleviate the situation?  We do have some suggestions and mitigation techniques - also some requests.
