15846: User Experience: The ABC’s of DB2 Application Performance Management

Thursday, August 7, 2014: 8:30 AM-9:30 AM
Room 402 (David L. Lawrence Convention Center)
Speaker: Mark Youngs(Humana, Inc.)
Handouts
  • ABC of DB2 application performance monitoring (2.7 MB)
  • Humana uses DB2 extensively within the mainframe environment.  We have a significant amount of DDF queries as well as DB2 work called by CICS and batch that enter our DB2 mainframe environment.

Code defects that enter through development code releases require a systematic approach so we can provide consistent service to the customer. We have developed a overall application tuning methodology that includes key skills (people with DB2 skills), process (Batch Online Performance Tuning and Problem Management) and DB2 tools (vendor and in-house).

Tracks: Performance/Capacity Planning, Software Architecture and User Experience
