Handouts
  • System zBatch Network Analyzer (zBNA) Tool Hands-on Lab (13.9 MB)
  • This session is a hands-on lab to the System z Batch Network Analyzer (zBNA). In 2013 IBM announced zBNA, a new free tool available to customers to help assess the impact to the Batch Window from implementing new technology options. In this hands-on lab you’ll get to run the zBNA tool. Using filters to select key Batch jobs, you’ll identify the job and step resources used and elapsed times. Then you’ll assess the impact to these key jobs when migrating to new CPU technology. In the process you’ll get familiar with how to run zBNA and gain experience in utilizing it to assess technology options for your Batch window. The latest technology option support including zEDC BSAM/QSAM compression will be included in the lab.
