Biographical Sketch:
Patrick Gray joined Vanguard Integrity Professionals as its Principal Security Strategist. Gray retired from the Federal Bureau of Investigation in November, 2001 after serving 20 years. Upon his retirement from the FBI he served as Director of X-Force Operations, Office of the CTO, Internet Security Systems, Inc. Prior to Cisco, Gray served as Security Expert for Cisco Systems. During his tenure with the FBI, Gray was assigned as a Supervisory Special Agent at FBI Headquarters, Washington, D.C. in the Intelligence Division where he was responsible for global counterintelligence investigations. While serving in D.C., Gray was seconded to the National Security Agency where he was responsible for an FBI group that provided operational support to the Intelligence Community. In 1994, he was assigned as Supervisor of the Special Operations Group which ultimately morphed into one of the FBI’s first regional Cyber Crime Squads, and became a Forensic Examiner for the FBI’s elite Computer Assistance Response Team. Gray was also assigned to the investigation of the September 11 attacks. Gray is a board certified Homeland Security professional by the American College of Forensic Examiners International; is a member of the Association of Certified Fraud Examiners, the Information Systems Audit and Control Association, and the International Information Systems Forensic Association. Gray was also the Coordinator of the Atlanta Chapter of InfraGard, growing it to the largest chapter nationally. Today, he continues to work closely with the FBI, other U.S. Government agencies, DHS and the White House. He has lectured at Colleges and Universities around the country, spoken at numerous technology events, been quoted in numerous newspapers, magazines and makes regular cable television appearances. Gray is a former Marine, having served in Vietnam.
