Migrating Tape Data to the EMC DLm with DTS Software's DLMCLONE

EMC Corporation's Data Library for Mainframe (DLm) virtual tape system is a popular and powerful replacement for older z/OS tape systems. Because of the very large amount of tape data that must be moved during migration to virtual tape, a methodology is required that provides maximum availability and performance with minimal complexity. This session will describe DTS Software's unique DLMCLONE technology for migrating tape data to the DLm, with emphasis on commonly encountered issues involving tape management systems, SMS tape, device type considerations, and special data types such as OAM, Mobius, and proprietary formats.
