HCD 2.1 offers a CPC-wide activate function. This feature allows HCD users to remotely activate dynamic I/O on all systems running on all CPCs known to the Hardware Management Console (HMC) that are listed in a specified TCP/IP connection table.
The CPC Image List that is invoked from dialog option 2.11 with action "V" has been extended to display the activation status of the connected MVS and HCD managed VM systems. The Image List provides new actions to activate the accessed production IODF for hardware and/or software changes at the selected MVS or VM system. The target production IODF is sent to the target system if necessary. Operational commands required for activation are issued remotely.
The messages resulting from the activate or other system command are displayed in a message list.
