Handouts
  • Effective Data Manasgement in a Tiered Storage Solution (4.0 MB)
  • One of the key IT challenges organizations are facing is how to store greater amounts of data for varied periods of time without dramatically increasing their IT complexity and spending.  This session will examine data management options for a tiered tape storage environment utilizing tape virtualization.  There will be discussions on how to get the right number of data copies at the right time at the right cost at the right location in order to meet ever increasing business needs.  This concept enables significant cost savings as the multi-tiered approach enables better matching of the type of storage and provisioning with the type of data that is stored on it. It aggregates nearline and archived data within a unified storage pool, so that any data can be easily accessed throughout its entire lifecycle.
