  • Comfortable In SLIP/PERs (399.0 kB)
  • So you know how to use SLIP to trap on an abend or a message, but what about the PER side of SLIP processing? In this presentation z/OS  Level 2 support representatives who use SLIP/PER on a daily basis will teach the finer points of SLIP/PER processing, starting with basic examples of  Storage Alteration, Instruction Fetch, and Successful Branch traps, then building up to more sophisticated SLIPs that take advantage of lesser known but extremely useful features of SLIP. The presentation will  begin with a quick overview, and then quickly flow into a "problem statement/problem solution" format where many practical data capture problem scenarios are presented and solved through SLIP. While those attending this presentation will find it helpful to have some familiarity with SLIP, even beginner programmers will find many gems in this exploration of the beauty and the power of SLIP!
