Handouts
  • Improve Service Levels with Enhanced Data Analysis (1.5 MB)
  • System z has the most detailed instrumentation of any IT environment. With the new zAware appliance in the EC12, users are now able to mine that data successfully that is key to understanding system performance, workload availability, security threats, and application availability.  This session will review a set of use cases and some advanced technology solutions which can help you identify patterns and relationships in a diverse set of data sources and help pinpoint problems and proactively respond to challenges which affect service levels.
We'll describe some early exploitation (e.g. NetView) of the zAware and what problem areas are being addressed (including the dreaded "Sick But Not Dead" class of problems).  Bring your use cases and data sources to this interactive discussion to advance your understanding on what IBM technology can do to help you in this highly exciting area.
