  • Back to The Future: Creating Consistent Copies at Isracard (1.5 MB)
  • In the volatile world that we live in, the protection of your production data is paramount. Disaster recovery techniques have been around for a while. But what about protecting your data from logical errors that get replicated to your DR site and render both copies useless?

This presentation will show how Isracard devised a methodology in which a production copy of the data is created each day and then verified by loading that copy to an LPAR. This procedure is automatic.

Another procedure creates a third copy for of site recovery.

The technologies used in our procedures include: BCPii, DS8700 Space Efficient Flash Copy and BMC's Control-O.

Isracard is Israel's largest credit card company. The core business uses z/OS, DB2, IMS and CICS.
