  • There is an ever increasing demand for cryptographic services in today's I/T world, yet many servers do not have access to cryptographic hardware.  This session will describe the architecture and operational implementation of the IBM Advanced Cryptographic Server.  The IBM Advanced Cryptographic Server provides secure access to IBM 4765 cryptographic hardware to increase cryptographic performance and throughput for client systems which for example might be virtual machines in a VMware Cloud environment.  The cryptographic hardware being utilized might be excess capacity on a System z, or System x and System p servers with an IBM 4765 card.  This session will describe the architecture and operational details of this environment, as well as deployment for using the crypto APIs both locally and remotely over the network.
