The operating system, VM, has always held a special place in the hearts of its systems programmers. Over the last 40 years, a strong community has grown based on the usage and customization of VM as the first, and still the best, virtualization hyperviser. This group have been leaders in many non-operating system areas as well, such as having the first (pre-WWW) online community, and leading the fight for keeping source code available to customers, long before the "Open Source" movement was born.
So, come and join the Linux and VM Program as we celebrate the 40th anniversary of the VM operating system, and, the amazing, passionate and, sometimes a bit wacky, community of people who have supported it for 4 decades.
