Grand Ballroom Salon D (Anaheim Marriott Hotel)
Speaker: Steven D. Cook(IBM)
Handouts
  • GDPS End to End support (xDR and DCM) (1.1 MB)
  • Does your enterprise rely on a stack of mainframe and distributed systems?  If so then true enterprise end-to-end  disaster recovery and automated failover is a reality today with IBM GDPS.  This session provides an overview of  Geographically Dispersed Parallel Sysplex (GDPS) xDR and Distributed Cluster Management (DCM) functionality which extend the GDPS disaster recovery to zLinux and distributed systems (AIX, Linux, Solaris, VMware, Windows).  GDPS xDR enables planned and unplanned Hyperswap for FB disks used by native Linux for System z systems under GDPS control.  GDPS DCM manages distributed systems using Tivoli® System Automation Application Manager (SA AppMan) or Symantec® Veritas Cluster Server along with the Open LUNs that attache to these systems.  All of these distributed systems can be controlled from a single GDPS panel.
