Speakers: Kai Dupke(SUSE) and Michael Friesenegger(Novell)
Handouts
  • Improved Availability with SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability (1.2 MB)
  • For most users reliability is key when choosing IBM System z as the operational platform. But what to do if the whole system or the complete infrastructure becomes unavailable?

For enterprise Linux several solutions exist to answer such question, including solutions provided by the enterprise Linux itself.

This session is about the enterprise Linux based High Availability stack, from the base local high availability cluster, to the more advanced stretched and Geographical clusters available as enterprise Linux vendor provided tools.

Using the free of charge SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension for IBM System z as an example, and the additional Geo clustering extension for SUSE Linux Enterprise High Availability Extension, you will learn what you can do out of the box with the installed enterprise Linux.
