Double dip recession? Boom times? Merger? Acquisition? Bad quarterly results? Any of these can be the nexus of a reduction-in-force or layoff.
Do you have a plan? Do you know what to do next? Could it have been prevented? What could I have done differently? Why me? Good questions all and the answers shape whether being laid off is the best or worst thing to ever happen to you.
This session will help you to prevent a layoff from becoming a 'train wreck' for you and those closest to you. The speaker, a veteran of a layoff himself, has presented this talk for almost 2,000 people since that layoff and has received positive feedback from prior attendees following their layoffs. You will receive some valuable advice that will assist you in being prepared to face your layoff when it occurs. Note that the expression here is 'when', not 'if', as we all face that possibility.
What this session does not cover is your individual Plan 'B', but rather covers the things that must be done and the questions that must be asked so you can move on to your Plan 'B'. The speaker will show how these steps allowed him to move from being laid off on Monday to having a contract with an initial customer by lunch time on Tuesday and being incorporated by Friday.
