Handouts
  • Modernization of Mainframe Applications with WebSphere Operational Decision Manager for z/OS (2.7 MB)
  • WebSphere Operational Decision Management for z/OS (WODM for z/OS) gives the Line of Business the opportunity to quickly react to changes in ,the marketplace by changing the behavior of mainframe applications dynamically.  Combining the management and execution of business rules and business events within the WODM for z/OS product delivers agility, traceability and full lifecycle support to existing Mainframe applications, which assure good performance especially for mass data processing on the mainframe.  This session will highlight the different rule execution options – within CICS and Batch COBOL applications, in WAS on z/OS and COBOL Rule generation.

This session will also highlight how you can start identifying where your rules are today embedded within your existing COBOL applications by leveraging the rule mining capability of Rational Asset Analyzer (RAA).  The powerful combination of RAA and WODM on z/OS provides the way to incrementally modernize your applications.  Note:  WODM is the evolution of IBM products formerly known as ILOG BRMS and WebSphere Business Events (WBE).
