Understanding WebSphere DataPower Integration XI50z Appliance for zEnterprise

A technology deep dive on WebSphere SOA DataPower integration appliance XI50z for zEnterprise. We will discuss the DataPower smart SOA architecture approach, design points, and standard zBX packaging for simplified deployment on this purpose-built, fully integrated appliance. We will cover the supported use cases with CICS, IMS and DB2 backend subsystems. In addition, we will look at RACF and Sysplex Distributor integration value add, and how we extended the SOMA/AMP interfaces to allow the HMC and zEnterprise Unified Resource Manager to manage the appliance. This includes the System z QoS such as security, monitoring, "call home", and operational controls.  We'll wrap up with a live demo on the XI50z appliance in the zEnterprise Ensemble, and how it's being managed by the zManager HMC/SE.
