  • In this session, the speaker will provide you with information and details for directly accessing z/OS data from your Windows PC using the z/OS Distributed File Service SMB server. There is no need to install anything on your Windows PC. He will also provide some backup material on how to install and configure the z/OS SMB server on z/OS. Come to this session to learn about:

    - Overview of the Distributed File Service SMB server
    - Authentication and mapping Windows users to z/OS user ids
    - Accessing files and data stored in z/OS UNIX filesystems (zFS/HFS) and in MVS data sets (for example, PDS, PDSE)
    - Dynamic export and Automounted file systems
    - And more

    After attending this lab session, you should know how to access z/OS data using the z/OS SMB server.
