Handouts
  • Behind Watson (949.6 kB)
  • IBM Watson Hardware and Software Overview (949.5 kB)
  • Watson was fun. But real life is full of real challenges. The real test of technology is how you can apply it today across different industries to have real impact.

Our speaker will discuss how IBM leveraged Linux on Power to deliver Watson. He will provide an overview of the hardware and software along with a description of how Watson’s algorithms work. He will also discuss the capabilities of Watson and remind us that Watson is not the be-all and end-all that some believe “him” to be. This will be an interactive session, with the opportunity to help IBM brainstorm how the technology behind Watson could be used once it becomes commodity or enterprise affordable.

If you are interested in the hardware and software technologies used to deliver Watson, then this is the session for you!

Tracks: Enterprise Data Center Management, IT Management, Implications of Watson to Enterprise IT and Linux Systems Management
