  • Is there a problem that occurred ten days or even four years ago, lasted for hours, took forever to diagnose and still haunts your organization because of the impact it had on your business?  To help you detect when a problem like this is going to occur, z/OS has delivered Predictive Failure Analysis. PFA uses historical data and advanced analytics to make a prediction of the normal behavior of the z/OS image, compares the expected behavior with the actual behavior, and issues a health check exception when abnormal behavior is detected that could affect the z/OS image. This session will cover the basics of PFA -- what it is, why you should use it, what it's looking for (and what it's not!), how to install it, etc. -- to more advanced topics -- how to fine-tune it to your environment, how to use it with other products such as Omegamon, etc.
