This presentation will discuss various means of protecting tape data from problems ranging from tape I/O errors through major disasters utilizing SUN's VSM. Learn to evaluate various methods of managing tape data in terms of relative cost, recovery point objectives, and recovery time objectives. Policy-driven data protection techniques include multiple tape copies, VSM clustering for either asynchronous or synchronous replication, and cross-tapeplex replication.
