PPRC Manager and FlashCopy Manager are two z/OS products that have enabled installations to create business solutions not possible with other technologies. This session will describe the range of solutions that exploit each of the products individual capabilities and the range of solutions that exploit their combined capabilities. The products have enabled installations to implement DR solutions that span the range from “Point In Time to Tape” to full unplanned outage support for their DASD environment. The DR process that supports your air reservation travel to Boston may be based on these technologies. Customers are using FlashCopy Manager to obtain consistent copies of production data from GDPS Metro Mirror secondary volumes without impacting GDPS operations. The applications to be discussed run from those using a single DS8100 thru thirty nine DS8300s. We will do a quick demo of FlashCopy Manager at the end of the presentation.
