  • In this introductory session we will walk you through the process of writing your first recovery routine (ESTAE) to handle ABENDs in your assembler code under z/OS.

Along the way we will explain important concepts, rules and parts of the Recovery Termination Manager (PIC, FLIH, RTM, (E)SPIE, (E)STAE, SDWA, RTM2WA, FRR, ...) We will also demonstrate common issues and "suprises" when dealing with recovery and ESTAE routines in particular.

This session is targeted towards new assembler programmers under z/OS but may work as a refresher for everyone dealing with ABENDs and recovery under z/OS.

    zNextGen members are very wellcome!!!
