We hear a lot about Web 2.0. What is Web 2.0 and why is it important? Empowering people with content, social connections and other tools to solve problems are increasingly using web 2.0 technologies for business. A whole new generation of web-based social networks, collaborative, and interactive technology tools have emerged with Ajax, RSS and ATOM feeds, REST (RESTful web services), Dojo and Mashups, etc. This session covers the fundamentals of the new emerging technology, builders of the next generation web. We will look at how IBM product and middleware solutions are adopting and exploiting the Web 2.0 technologies, e.g., WAS Feature Pack for Web 2.0., WebSphere sMash, Message Broker, Portal Server, Lotus Collaboration, CICS Web 2.0, IMS Info 2.0 for InfoSphere MashupHub, and Cognos BI solution. To provide an insight into how IBM Web 2.0 focus and practices provide value to customers today. We will also cover the IBM toolkits that support Web 2.0 programming model and application development.
