  • In this session, the speaker will cover the terminology and structure of IMS secondary indices and logical relationships. The fields in the index pointer segment are explained and the secondary processing sequence is described. The types of logical realtions, the logical pointers and the concatenated segment will also be presented. The multiple paths for accessing a segment and the rules for creating logical structures will be discussed. This is a beginner level presentation intended to provide a basis for understanding the secondary indices and logical relationships.
