  • Join me as I take you through DTCC's continued journey towards an Application Centric environment & Highest Availability. Building on our experiences and successes with Enterprise Extender, 1st part of the Mainframe Network Pie -(see session 3743, Enterprise Extender Evolution - 'A Tight Ship with Maximum Buoyancy,' User Experience, in the SHARE San Jose proceedings); 'The Marriage of VTAM & TCPIP- VTAM Generics & SYSPLEX Distribution' - 2nd part of the Pie ( session 3735, Austin);

    And  now, as we've  leaped ahead to reach ever higher levels of availability, reliability, scalability, and workload balance, the 3rd part of the Mainframe Network Pie - "The Indigo Child Of  SYSPLEX Distribution - Static - To - Dynamic ".  The exploitation of SD   to the fullest.   As the majority of clients still target the stack's static Identity, by converting it to D/DD - VIPA, we've re-doubled our availability, reliability, further workload balancing, throughput optimization and further extending the life of our CPU(s) - translates to considerable money savings.  New tools had to be developed to achieve our goals such as "The SYSPLEX Integrity Checker", a key component relative to Rolling IPL(s) and/or STACK / LPAR outage.

    All of the above with transparency and zero changes by our USER community
