Biographical Sketch:
At DataPower, Rich designed and led the implementation of the XS40, the first XML Security Firewall. Rich joined IBM with the acquisition of DataPower nearly five years ago. He is a Senior Techinical Staff Member (STSM) at IBM. He was initially the Lead Programmer, responsible for overall architecture of the DataPower product line and its integration with other IBM products. Starting at the end of last year, he has been on assignment to build a platform for IBM appliance products, leveraging DataPower's experience and technology. Rich has been active in the Internet, distributed systems, and security spheres for more than 20 years. He is one of the world's leading XML and Web Services security experts. Over the years, he has been a member of many IETF, W3C, and OASIS working groups, and is a named contributor on many important standards.
