VSP: In search of the Unicorn: Finding the Mythical Single Pane of Glass

This session is intended to be a thought provoking idea and experience sharing discussion as well as information sharing by the speaker(s). We keep hearing about this mythical single pane of glass, a way to monitor the entire enterprise infrastructure with a single tool… but like unicorns they don’t seem to exist. Optimizing enterprise systems and application performance can be a huge business differentiator for success, but there is complexity using different tools and methods.  But what does perfect cross enterprise monitoring really look like?  Is it real? And, why is it valuable to monitor z Systems alongside midrange and open systems? Who really benefits? We’ll also review organizational structures that support or prevent cross enterprise monitoring in addition to various approaches and tools in place today.
