  • zEnterprise Data Compression (zEDC) for z/OS V2.1, a new priced optional feature of z/OS , running on zEC12 and zBC12 systems with the zEDC Express adapter, is designed to support a new data compression function. This facility is designed to provide high-performance, low-latency compression without significant CPU overhead.  The speaker will review what was presented in Pittsburgh with regards to QSAM/BSAM and DSS/HSM exploitation of zEDC, including configuration and validation steps.  New content includes performance metrics, options to monitor and/or track your own performance, and available user experiences.
