  • As an IT professional, it's important that you can articulate the value, understanding and growing importance of Platform as a Service (PaaS) and Software as a Service (SaaS). By the end of 2016, Platform as a Service will be 24% of all cloud revenue. SaaS will represent 25% of cloud revenue.
Why is this important? Increasingly, CTOs want the value of software capabilities without dealing with the infrastructure. As clients start to understand that cloud Infrastructure as a Service (IaaS) does not save them the money they originally thought they were going to get, they will start to see the importance of the flexibility, agility and lower management costs of PaaS and SaaS.
Since this is a developing space that will be growing in importance through 2016, we have to start now to invest in building PaaS and SaaS solutions.
