Handouts
  • Managing a mainframe technology conversion project (187.6 kB)
  • TSG Software has been performing software technology conversions for almost 20 years, mainly in the area of the conversion of ISV 4GL programming languages, development tools and non-relational databases.

Along the way we have learned many lessons about how to provide and perform this service to our clients, but more importantly how to assess, plan and manage these projects.

The presentation will cover how to assess the viability for these projects and how to plan for the projects, including creating the business case and ROI calculations.

We will also go through the technical assets that are needed, and the key success factors for this type of projects.

We will be able to reference a number of actual projects, where things have gone well, and some where they have been 'more of  a challenge ' !
