Employing External Retention Management Techniques in a DFSMSrmm Environment

Most DFSMSrmm and DFSMShsm environments were set up many years, even decades ago. Over time, your business has evolved, grown and changed and along the way so may have management of your long-term tape data.  This session revisits the implementation/enablement of “external” control of DFSMSrmm managed tapes, focusing on the interaction between DFSMSrmm and DFSMShsm as well as how these mechanisms can be extended for non-DFSMShsm situations.
