Thursday, March 5, 2015: 1:45 PM-2:45 PM

Speaker: Chris Backhouse, IBM(IBM Corporation)
Handouts
  • Dynamic Business Rules and CICS (2.3 MB)
  • IBM Operational Decision Manager for z/OS (ODM for z/OS) enables you to achieve greater agility from CICS applications while avoiding lengthy application development cycles by externalizing business rules from code and enabling detection of event-based patterns to make applications more responsive to actionable business situations. CICS TS provides the capability to emit events from existing applications as well as the infrastructure to host the Business Rule Execution servers. With ODM for z/OS, the use of Business Events to DETECT business situations occurring and then Business Rules to DECIDE how to handle the situation is a powerful way to extend and modernize existing CICS applications
